Fresh 8 Covid-19 cases, 3 negative cases recorded in Manipur

Imphal: On Friday eight persons (5 males and 3 females) including three children below six years of age have been confirmed positive for Covid-19 at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.

Of them four persons (2 males aged 3 years each, 2 females aged 6 and 32 years) are from Kamjong district and are Mumbai returnees and two persons (1 male aged 19 yeras and 1 female aged 20 years) are from Imphal West and Ukhrul districts respectively and are Delhi returnees. The other two persons (2 males aged 23 and 41 years) are from Jiribam and Imphal West diistricts and are Deoband and Bengaluru returnees respectively.

All precautionary measures and shifting to Covid Care Facilities are underway, Manipur Covid-19 Control Room said.

Three persons (1 male and 2 females) were discharged from RIMS after testing negative for Covid-19. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 41, it added.

Total number of positive cases has increased to 132 and the number of active cases is 91.

“All returnees (by train) are requested to submit the details of their travel history (such as dates, place of origin, train name, coach number, seat number, including the bus number from Jiribam to Imphal) to the in charge of their quarantine centres,” the control room said.
