Covid-19 cases surge to 272 in Manipur

Imphal: On Monday 63 persons have been confirmed positive of Covid-19 surging the commutative positive cases to 272.

At the same time six males have been recovered from the disease on the same day and discharged from Regional Institute of Medical Sciences  (RIMS). With this total number of negative cases has increased to 58.

The 63 persons were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases at RIMS (24) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (39). The district wise distributions are Bishnupur (34), Kakching (18), Kamjong (3), Ukhrul (2), Senapati (2), Imphal west (2), Kangpokpi (1) and Noney (1). All of them are returnees from other states, Manipur Covid-19 Control Room said.

The authorities of the concerned districts have taken up all necessary precautionary medical measures like containment and contact tracing, it added.

The number of active cases stands to 214.
