950 liquor cases disposed

Imphal: A total of about 950 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) seized during lockdown along Imphal Jiribam national highway were disposed on Saturday at Khongsang police station area.

The disposed liquor cases were seized by a team of Nungba police station on Monday. The liquors was found transporting along with mustard oil in a Tata truck bearing registration number NL01N-9178.

Disposal of liquors was conducted under officer-in-charge (OC) Noney district, excise station, A Birakishor Singh in presence of OC, Nungba police station, O. Premchand, OC, Khongsang police station, Namdingpou kamei, president of Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation Manipur, Kilongdi Golmei, chairman Khongsang village authority, youth and women leaders of the area.

The disposed liquors were dump at the spot using excavators.

Driver and the truck have been detained and are in the custody of Nungba police station.
