NAB nabs 3 drug smugglers including 2 ladies with drugs and Rs 4 lakh


Imphal: A team of Narcotics and affairs of border (NAB) police station, Imphal apprehended three persons involved in smuggling of Heroin drug on Saturday evening.

They were identified as Chaili Newme, 47, daughter of Samuite U Newme of Magulong Tamenglong district, Felina Neinunnem, 28, daughter of Demkhokai of DHQ Tuibong, Churachandpur district and  Ngamkhomang Haokip, 30, son of Janggin Haokip of S. Muoldung Village, Churachandpur.

Chaili was apprehended at about 5: 30 pm from Mantripukhri along with 35 caps (450 grams) of Heroin powder.  On Chaili’s revelation, Felina and Ngamkhomang were apprehended at around 7: 30 pm from Mantripukhri near Pukhri Achouba.

Felina handed the drug consignment to Chaili, NAB superindent of police and Manipur Police PRO W. Basu told reporters here on Sunday.

The NAB team recovered a sum of Rs 4 lakh from the possession of Felina Neinunnem and also one Bolero Car bearing registration number MN-02C/0023 driven by Ngamkhomang.

A case has been registered at NAB police station, Imphal, Basu said.
