60 Covid-19 patients discharged from hospitals, active cases stands at 339

Imphal, June 15: Sixty Covid-19 patients were discharged from Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) on Monday after they were found negative for Covid-19 on Sunday.
Twenty-two of them were discharged from RIMS, while 38 were discharged from JNIMS.
Since 6.30 pm of Sunday till 7 pm of Monday, 32 persons were confirmed as new positive Covid-19 cases at RIMS and JNIMS.
Samples of 20 of them were tested at RIMS and the remaining at JNIMS. They were all returnees from other states.
Thus, total number of positive cases has increased to 490 and the number of active cases to 339.
Manipur Covid-19 common control room said a quick survey done by the media team of health department has found that 39.5 percent of the pedestrians do not wear face mask; 3 percent of these people gave economic reasons and 26.7 per cent cited medical reasons while the remaining 70 percent could not give any valid reason for not wearing face mask.
Saying that wearing of face mask is a very effective means of protecting self and others from contracting Covid-19, health department requested all to wear face mask while going out.
