Imphal: With the confirmation of 96 new positive cases of Covid-19 total positive cases has risen to 777 and the active cases to 545 as on Saturday.
The new cases were confirmed from the VRDLs of RIMS (46) and JNIMS (50). They are from Bishnupur (13), Imphal East (2), Kakching (5), Kamjong (6), Kangpokpi (22), Tamenglong (31), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (12) and Ukhrul (4) districts, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.
They are all returnees from other states. They are being shifted to the Covid Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
Fourteen persons were discharged on Saturday from JNIMS (5) and RIMS (9) after they were found free from the disease, it added.
The total number of recovered cases is 232. The recovery rate is 29.85 percent, it added.
Ventilators are the most important medical device for management of critically ill Covid- 19 patients. Health facilities with isolation beds, located at (or near) district headquarters and Mao and Moreh border towns are now provided with ventilators. Total number of available ventilators is 48, it said.
