Covid-19 cases reaching 841

Imphal: As on Sunday Manipur has recorded 64 new positive cases of Covid-19 pushing the commutative figure to 841 and the active cases to 591.

Eighteen persons were discharged on the same day from JNIMS (17) and RIMS (1) after they were found negative for Covid-19 on RT PCR test.

Those news positive cases were confirmed from the VRDLs of RIMS (43) and JNIMS (21). They are from Chandel (1), Imphal East (2), Imphal West (3), Kakching (6), Kamjong (20), Kangpokpi (18), Tamenglong (8) and Thoubal (6) districts. They are all returnees from other states. They are being shifted to the Covid Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, state Covid-19 common control room said.

The total number of recovered cases is 250. The recovery rate is 29.72 percent, it added.

If an exposed person develops symptoms before testing, the person should be referred to a designated health care facility immediately for isolation/observation and sample collection. Such prompt action would reduce secondary attacks, it said.

A total of 145 beds are available at Bishnupur, D1-1 (32), Chandel, DI-1 (10), Churachandpur, D1-1 (22), Jiribam, SDH (10), Kakching, CHC (8), Kamjong, CHC (2), Noney, P1-IC (2), Parbung, Cl-IC (2), Thoubal, DI-1 (6), Tamenglong, D1-1 (10), Senapati, DH (15), Ukhrul, DI-1(16), Mao, SDI-l(6) and Moreh, SDI-1 (4), it added.
