Government allows schools to collect admission fees, monthly fees upto March

Imphal: All private and aided schools (other than government schools and schools under the central government) shall ensure that admission fees may be collected by schools and there should not be any hike of fees for the session; monthly school fees up to the month of March can be collected by schools without any hike in amount.

This was stated in an order by Education (S) Department on Saturday.

According to the order, for schools with enrolment up to 700, 50% of salaries of teachers and non-teaching staffs are to be paid while for schools with enrolment above 700, their salaries are to be paid in full. It further stated that the payment may be made after the lockdown is over if the schools have enrolment less than 200.

All schools shall ensure that some teaching-learning process takes place for the school, the order said.

Fees, if already collected for the months of April to July by the schools, then they shall be adjusted with subsequent months in future, it added.

All the concerned school managements shall ensure that the order is fully complied with and in the event of non-compliance by any school authority, the same may be reported to the department through email address manipur.education.s@gmail.com along with details and proof, it said.

In wake of the outbreak of COVID-19 outbreak and closing down of all schools in the state by an order issued on March 12, the academic calendar have been greatly affected and thereby creating lots of apprehension, anxieties to the students as well as to teachers, non-teaching staff, parents, guardians, transporters, etc.
