Imphal: With the confirmation of 49 person positive for Covid-19 total postive cases surged to 970, active cases stood at 642 with 328 recovered cases as on Wednesday.
The new cases (24 males, 25 females) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases from the VRDLs of RIMS (29) and JNIMS (20). They are from the districts of Churachandpur (11), Imphal West (3), Imphal East (2), Jiribam (1), Kakching (5), Kamjong (5), Kangpokpi (2), Noney (1), Senapati (5), Tamenglong (2), Thoubal (1) and Ukhrul (11), Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.
All are returnees from other states. They are being shifted to the Covid Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
On Wednesday 70 persons are discharged from Bishnupur District Hospital (32), CCC, UNACCO (17) and JNIMS (10) after they were found free from Covid-19 on RT PCR test, it said.
The recovery rate in the state is 33.81 percent.
