Imphal: Following confirmation of 86 new positive cases for COVID-19 total positive cases has mounted to 1056 in Manipur.
The new 86 cases (53 males, 33 females) were confirmed from the VRDLs of RIMS (78) and JNIMS (8).
They are from the districts of Bishnupur (2), Churachandpur (2), Imphal East (1), Imphal West (3), Kakching (4), Kamjong (2), Kangpokpi (1), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (55), Thoubal (2) and Ukhrul (12). All are returnees from other states.
They are being shifted to the COVID Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, state COVID-19 common control room said.
Twenty-six persons were discharged from Churachandpur District Hospital (5), CCC, Meitram (16) and RIMS (10) after they were found free from the disease on RT PCR test.
The total number active and recovered cases are 702 and 354 respectively. The recovery rate is 33.52 percent, the control room informed.
