7 positive, 59 negative for COVID-19 in Manipur

Imphal: Out of 660 samples tested for COVID-19 (at VRDL of JNIMS) seven persons (5 male, 2 females) have been confirmed as new positive cases, while fifty-nine persons have been found negative on RT PCR test as on Tuesday.

With this development total number of positive cases reached 1234 while the numbers of active and recovered cases stood at 681 and 553 respectively.

The recovery rate is 44.81 percent, according to state COVID-19 common control room.

The new cases are from Bishnupur (1), Imphal East (1), Kangpokpi (1), Senapati (4). All returned from other states. They are being shifted to the COVID Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary
measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room informed.

The 59 COVID-19 free individuals were discharged from CCC, Meitram (5), CCC, Ukhrul (19), Covid Care Facilities at RIMS (2), JNIMS (24) and District Hospital Churachandpur (9).

Doctors, nurses and supporting staff in frontline duties for COVID-19 undergo Quarantine after duties, as per protocol. Government has arranged
free quarantine facilities for such Health Care Workers at all locations.

If some Health Care Workers would prefer to stay in hotel/pai quarantines (on self payment), have also been allowed.
