COVID-19: Manipur records recovery of 48.6 percent

Imphal: Manipur has recorded a recovery rate of 48.6 percent as negative cases of COVID-19 rose to 615 out of 1279 positive cases as on Thursday.

The numbers of active cases was 663 till date.

Nineteen persons (14 makes, 5 females) were confirmed as new COVID-19 cases at VRDLs of RIMS (8) and JNIMS (11). They are from the districts of Churachandpur (10), Imphal West (1), Kakching (2), Kamjong (2), Kangpokpi (1), Thoubal (1), and Ukhrul (2). They will be shifted to the COVID Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, medical authority says.

Thirty-seven more persons were discharged from CCCS of Meitram (19), Kakching (17) and COVID Care Facility of RIMS (1) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.

Health department has maintained complete transparency on important facts related to COVID-19 pandemic and it is reiterated that there is no concealment of or intention to conceal facts from the public or media, additional director and spokesperson health department, Manipur, said.
