Imphal: Social welfare director Ng. Uttam Singh on Friday served Show Cause Notices to six officials of the department including 4 CDPOs in connection with the alleged collection of unauthorised money by some CDPOs through supervisors from Anganwadi workers and helpers in connection with payment of arrears to AWWs and AWHs.
The director informed that the officials involved have been served an ultimatum to submit a written explanation by July 10 in this regards, failing which necessary action will be taken up as per law.
Uttam submitted a brief report to the Administrative Department on Friday. Accordingly, secretariat, social welfare department constituted an Inquiry Committee with the director as chairperson to inquire into the alleged corrupt practices.
The director has urged all concerned to help the committee in finding out the truth. He further said any official found to be involved in the alleged corrupt practices will be strictly punished.
Uttam called upon all for cooperation and to provide the information and evidence to him on the alleged illegal activity.
The firector declared that “any person who can give information about the officials involved in the alleged illegal activity along with credible evidence will be rewarded in a befitting manner”.
