COVID-19 cases peaks to 1390

Imphal: With the confirmation of 24 persons (17 males, 7 females) as new COVID-19 cases at VRDLs of RIMS (9) and JNIMS (15) on Monday cumulative number of positive cases reached 1390.

The new cases belong to the districts of Imphal East (3), Jiribam (9) and Senapati (12) respectively.

They will be shifted to the COVID Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Manipur COVID-19 common control room said on Monday.

In the last twenty four hours, 45 persons were discharged from CCCs of Meitram (4) and Tamenglong Higher Secondary School (21) and COVID Care Facilities of RIMS (6) and JNIMS (14) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.

The numbers of active and recovered cases are 656 and 734 respectively. The recovery rate is 52.80 percent, the control room said.

On Sunday evening, a girl of 7 years was found positive for COVID-19. She returned from Delhi on June 22 with her parents. On June 28 the parents were found positive and the girl was negative. The parents were shifted to JNIMS and she was put under home quarantine at Thangmeiband, Imphal West. The girl has been shifted to CCF, JNIMS, it added.
