Imphal: With the confirmation of 37 persons negative for COVID-19 the recovery rate has increased to 53.91 percent in Manipur as on Tuesday.
The persons confirmed negative of the disease were discharged from CCC Meitram (23), CCC, Ukhrul (1), Isolation ward of DH, Thoubal (5) and COVID Care Facilities of RIMS (1) and JNIMS (7) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test, an official report said.
In the last twenty four hours, 40 persons (29 males, 11 females) were confirmed as new COVID-19 cases at VRDLs of RIMS (7) and JNIMS (33). They belong to the districts of Churachandpur (1), Imphal East (1), Jiribam (5), Kakching (2), Kangpokpi (5) and Senapati (26), the report said.
They will be shifted to the COVID Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
The numbers of active and recovered cases stood at 659 and 771 respectively. The cumulative number of positive cases was 1430.
