Imphal: Dr M. Dinesh Singh, senior medical officer, Central Medical Store, Directorate of Health Services cum state nodal officer, State Health Society, NHM Manipur has been arrested in connection with an FIR registered at Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Police station, Manipur, on Tuesday.
During the investigation conducted so far, it has been revealed that Dr M. Dinesh Singh had played a key role in the procurement of medical protective gears without issuing supply orders from various firms including N 95 masks allocated to District Hospital, Churanchandpur which were suspected to be of sub-standard quality, a press release by superintendent of police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Manipur said.
The accused person will be produced in the Court of Special Judge (P.C. Act), Imphal West on Wednesday remanding him into police custody for further investigation, the release said.
