Imphal: Officers of Anti-Smuggling Unit, Customs Division, Imphal, apprehended a young lady drug trafficker in possession with Heroin powder that would worth Rs 1,07,72,000.
The lady was identified as Anandi, 18, daughter of Md. Ataola Khan, resident of Phundrei Makha Leikai, Thoubal district, Manipur.
She, along with the contraband drugs, was apprehended near Tribal Market, New Lambulane , Imphal East on Wednesday at about 5 pm.
The officers, acting on the basis of specific information, detected 538.6 grams of Heroin powder packed in 50 soap cases of assorted colours from her possession, superintendent (A/S), Customs Division, Imphal, P. Roben Singh said on Thursday.
A case has been registered on Wednesday under the relevant provisions of NDPS Act 1985. Further investigation to nab the other offender(s) of the case is going on, the officer added.
