Imphal: Government on Friday issued an order fixing new days for opening of shops in Paona and Thangal keithel. The order also allowed all the wholesalers in Thangal and Dharamsala to open from 6 am to 5 pm. However, there is still ban on opening of small shops located at lane/gullies in the two keithels.
Shops selling clothes, shoes, stationaries, sports, utensils, crockery, electronics, computers, mobile, weaving yarns, motor parts, tyres, batteries, etc. in Thangal keithel may open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, shops selling electrical, paints, aluminum construction materials, plywood, utensils, hardware, sanitary fittings, tiles and marbles can open shops.
Paona Keithel shops selling luggage & bags, stationaries, cycle, computers, glass & ply, mobiles, electronics, dry cleaning (only shops on eastern side of the keithel) and weaving yarn can open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Shops selling jewelry, eye glass, photo studio, shoes, sports and clothes (only western side shops) can open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
