Imphal: Deputy commissioner, Imphal West on Saturday declared Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai as containment with the confirmation of one resident positive for Covid-19.
Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West dlstrict, Naorem Praveen Singh in an order said in view of impending threat of Covid-19 with testing positive of a Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai resident, who has been home quarantined, it has been expedient to issue containment measures to prevent the spread of the disease in the area.
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Manipur Epidemic Diseases, Covid-19 Regulations, 2020 and in pursuance of the advisory of the director general of health services (EMR dIvislon), ministry of health and family welfare, in regard to containment of Covid- 19, the deputy commissioner ordered to take up containment measures in the geographical area with immediate effect.
The containment measures include sealing of the geographical area, entry and exit of population from the containment area, closure of schools, offices, if any and banning public gathering of any type, banning vehicular movement in the area, initiating active surveillance of Covid-19 cases and compulsory use of Aarogya Setu application by all the people staying or residing within the containment area.
The containment zone covers homestead covered by CS Dag No. 3375 and 3400 of Revenue Village No. 48- Singjamei in the North, homestead covered by CS Dag No. 3144 of Revenue Village No. 48- Singjamel in the south, homestead covered by CS Dag No. 3140 of Revenue Village No. 48- Singjamei in the east and Sarkari Khas adjolning Thonganm Lelkal IVR covered by CS Dag No. 3157 of Reveneu Village No. 48- Singjamei in the west.
Any person or institution or organisation found vlolating the containment measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the order mentioned.
Superintendent of pollce, Imphal West district has been requested to strictly ensure perimeter control over the containment zone and allow movement only for medical emergencies and supply of essential commodities and services within the perimeter of the zone and immediate necessary enforcement. He has been requested to submit day-to- day situation rерorts.
