Imphal: Manipur Police has on Sunday nabbed five vehicle lifters from different places of Lilong and recovered a car and two bikes.
A team of Lilong Police station with members of ANJUMAN apprehended two vehicle lifters, who were identified as Md. Islao Rahaman alias Momocha, 25 son of Abdul Hakim of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai and Md. Mujid Khan, 21, son of Mohammed Khan of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai and recovered one Maruti Alto car bearing registration number MN05A-6996, silky silver in colour, from their possession. They were apprehended from Lilong Chingjao at around 1 pm.
On follow up action, the police also arrested another three vehicle lifters identified as Ziaur Rahaman alias Yaima alias Sirajuddin, 43, son of (L) Md. Rahimuddin of Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai, Md. Illiyas, 24, son of (L) Ayub Khan of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai and Md. Shahbuddin alias Iboyai, 55, son of (L) Md. Abdur Rahaman of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai and recovered two Royal Enfield bikes bearing registration number MN 01AH-4492, gun metal grey in colour and MN 01AE-0040 red in colour from their possession.
A regular FIR case has been registered at Lilong Police station for further investigation, police said.
