Imphal: A final year PGT student of department of Physiology, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal has been tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
Medical superintendent, RIMS, professor Ch. Arunkumar Singh, in a notification issued on Thursday, instructed to close departments of Physiology and Biochemistry with immediate effect until further notice.
He advised the faculties and all the staff of the two departments to undergo testing on Friday. They were requested to assemble at Flu Clinic from 9 am for sample collection and to wait for the results.
Contact tracing at RIMS, Imphal shall be initiated urgently by the Community Medicine Department RIMS, Imphal, the official notification said.
All the heads of departments and unit heads were advised to reinforce the Infection, Prevention and Control measures very strictly to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The superintendent directed vice-president CRED, RIMS, Imphal to urgently sanitize the two departments by spraying and fogging of disinfectants.
