Imphal: Ninety-nine persons (82 males, 9 females) were confirmed as new positive cases for COVID-19 at VRDLs of RIMS (16) and JNIMS (63) and Ms of Tamenglong (3), Thoubal (8) and Ukhrul (1).
The new cases belong to the districts of Imphal West (3), Kangpokpi (63), Kamjong (6), Tamenglong (3), Thoubal (12) and Ukhrul (4). They are being shifted to the COVID care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, an official report said.
“Those 63 persons from Kangpokpi district are personnel of CRPF Training centre, Kangpokpi and the three persons from Imphal West are army personnel from Leimakhong Garrison,” the official report said.
They have recently joined their duty after leave, it added.
In the past twenty four hours, 19 persons were discharged from CCCs of Meitram, Imphal West (6), Thoubal (1) and Kamjong (7) and COVID Care Facility of RIMS (3) and JNIMS (2) after they were found free from the disease on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1891. The numbers of active and recovered cases are 709 and 1182 respectively. The recovery rate is 62.50 percent, the report said.
