Imphal: Manipur home department has enforced total lockdown and complete curfew in Thoubal district on Tuesday with the increase in number of Covid-19 active cases in the district.
An order issued by chief secretary Dr J. Suresh Babu said infection of Covid-19 has been detected in some persons of the district who have no recent travel history outside the state and ‘there shall be complete curfew in the entire Thoubal district until further orders or till July whichever is earlier’.
Only personnel of essential services permitted by deputy commissioner, Thoubal will be allowed, the order said. No inter-district movement including passing through Thoubal District will be allowed, it added.
As on Tuesday four persons of Thoubal were confirmed positive for the contagion, according to state Covid-19 common Control room. It said, “Till date there is no evidence of community transmission in any parts of the state.”
Thoubal district took up publicity on streets and residential areas announcing the enforcement of total lockdown and curfew in the district.
