55 more positive for COVID-19 in Manipur


Imphal: Fifty-five more persons including five females were confirmed as new positive cases of COVID-19 pushing up the cumulative tally of positive cases to 2115 as on Thursday evening.

The new cases were confirmed at RIMS (28) and JNIMS (13), DH of Thoubal (12) and Babina Diagnostics Lab (2).

They belong to the districts of Imphal West (6), Kakching (3), Kamjong (1), Leimakhong Garrison, Kangpokpi (12). Tengnoupal (1). Thoubal (31) and Ukhrul (1).

They were being shifted to the COVID care facilities. All (except the twelve individuals with local contact history from Thoubal district) were returnees from other states. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

Forty-two persons were discharged from COVID care centres of Meitram, Imphal West (27), Senapati (3), Kakching (3), RD Wing. Lamphel (6) and Thoubal (3) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.

The numbers of active and recovered cases were 655 and 1460 respectively. The recovery rate stood at 69.03 percent.

Seven days lockdown with curfew has begun at 2 pm of Thursday.
