Manipur COVID-19 update: 31 recovered, 31 positive

Imphal: As on Friday 31 persons have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 while 31 persons have been recovered from the disease and discharged.

The new positive cases were confirmed at VRDLs of RIMS (11) and JNIMS (5), DHs of Jiribam (11) and Thoubal (4). They belong to the districts of Churachandpur (1), Imphal East (1), Imphal West (11), 37′ AR, Jiribam (I 1), Thoubal (5) and Ukhrul (2).

They are being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. “Six individuals from the districts of Thoubal (4) and Imphal West (2) are cases without significant outside state travel history.” All the rest are returnees from other states. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, an official report said.

Thirty-one persons were discharged from COVID Care centres of Meitram, Imphal West (2), Senapati (5), RD Wing, Lamphel (5) and Thoubal (2) and COVID Care facilities of RIMS (4) and JNIMS (13) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases was 2146. The numbers of active and recovered eases were 655 and 1491 respectively. The recovery rate stood at 69.47 percent.
