Imphal: A team of Kakching Police commando on Sunday recovered powder like substance, suspected to be Brown Sugar, contained in 100 soap cases during a raid at Aigejang Saivom village in Tengnoupal district.
Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh congratulated the police team for ‘War on Drugs’.
The team, after eceiving reliable information, at about 11.20 am, raided the dwelling place of a drug trafficker Lhunkho len Lhanghaal (31) son of Thangkhomang Lhanghal of Aigejang Saivom village.
The soap cases containing the powder substance were found in a plastic sack in a bed room.
Lhanghaal and another person involved were arrested. They along with the recovered items were handed to Tengnoupal Police station for further legal action.
