Imphal: Till 5 pm of Monday 84 persons from general population and five persons from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.
They were confirmed at the VRDL of RIMS (67), DH Thoubal (16) and Babina Diagnostic Centre (6). They belong to the districts of Imphal West (51), Thoubal (30), Bishnupur (1) and Ukhrul (2).
Four persons (two from Ukhrul and two from Thoubal) are returnees from other states. The rest are locals without any significant travel history.
They were being shifted to the Covid care facilities.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place. There is no report of death due to Covid-19 from any part of the state, Covid-19 common control room said.
Twenty-nine persons were discharged from Covid care centres of Meitram (21), Senapati (2), Churachandpur (5) and NIELIT Churachandpur (1) after they were found free from the contagion.
The cumulative number of positive cases was 2920. The numbers of active and recovered cases were 1147 and 1766 respectively. The cumulative number of death was 7. The recovery rate was 60.47 percent.
