CM Biren urges Meira Paibi, clubs to report presence of liquor vendors to police

Imphal: Chief minister N. Biren Singh has urged Meira Paibi  (women activist) and clubs to identify people who sells liquor in their respective localities and report them to police to apprehend them.

Biren made the appeal through his Facebook post on Monday.

He said he was taking the help of the people to fight Covid-19 crisis.

Saying that there are reports of people playing cards and drinking in groups by rivers banks, at lawns and homestead areas, he appealed the social activists to help in preventing such gathering.

He said as local transmission has begun all needs to be cautious of the pendamic.

He appealed the people to be sincere and urged to inform health department if anyone finds self suspicious of having symptoms of Covid-19.

“Let’s fight together, we will win,” Biren said.
