Imphal: At least 64 persons (39 males, 25 females) from general population and 34 persons from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.
They were confirmed postive at the VRDLs of RIMS (41) and JNIMS (46), SDH Jiribam (1) and Imphal West RAT (10).
They belong to the districts of Imphal West (25), Thoubal (23), Kakching (2), Chandel (5), Tamenglong (1) and Imphal East (8). Only one from Tamenglong was a returnee from other state. Of them 63 are locals without any significant travel history. They were being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Covid-19 control room said.
It said in the past 24 hours, 48 persons were discharged from JNIMS (4), Covid care centres of Meitram (8), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (3), RD Wing (12) and Jiribam AR (17) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases was 3018. The numbers of active and recovered cases were 1197 and 1814 respectively. The cumulative number of death stood at 7. The recovery rate was 60.10 percent.
Deputy commissioner, Thoubal has declared containment zone in Santhel Awang Leikai at Sangaiyumpham Higher Secondary School Block-B, in Thoubal Ningombam and at Lilong Police station.
