Imphal: In the past 24 hours, 75 persons (33 males, 42 females) from general population and 94 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.
They were confirmed at (VRDL, RIMS 28; VRDL, JNIMS – 122; Imphal West RAT- 5; Babina Diagnostics 1; DH Churachandpur – 4; DH Chandel – 6 ; DH Ukhrul – 3).
They are from Imphal West 25; Thoubal 2; Chandel 6; Bishnupur – 21; Imphal East – 7; Churachandpur 4; Noney – 7; Ukhrul 3.
“Only four from Noney out of the general population are returnees from other states and the rest 71 are locals without any significant travel history,” Covid-19 common control room said.
They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
In the past 24 hours, one person was discharged from JNIMS (1) after finding Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 3635 (general population – 2840 and central security personnel 795). The cumulative number of discharged cases is 1927 (general population – 1834 and central security Personnel – 93). The number of active cases is 1697 (general population – 995 and central security personnel – 702).
One male aged 63 years from Imphal East district expired due to Covid 19. He had co-morbid health conditions. The cumulative number of death is 11, the control room said.
“Till date, 765 persons have been confirmed as locally transmitted non-returnee, Covid 19 positive cases,” it said.
