Imphal: A 68-year old patient at JNIMS Covid ward who was infected with Covid-19 passed away on Friday night, while four doctors and one nurse serving at primary health centre (PHC), Bishnupur have been tested positive of the contagion.
The deceased person had been at JNIMS with kidney problem and other health issues. The person belongs to Khongman in Imphal East.
With this Covid-19 related death case has reached 11.
The Bishnupur PHC has been closed down with the confirmation of the five health care professionals positive for Covid-19.
Chief medical officer, Bishnupur has instructed all patients who visited the health care centre during August 2 and 7 to send their details and contact numbers to 8794873973 and 9436033708 by WhatsApp or SMS. They should be in strict home quarantine, the medical officer said.
The locally transmitted Covid cases have been calculated as 694, which is 20 percent of the total positive cases.
