Covid-19 update: 100 turns positive, 78 discharged

Imphal: Manipur has recorded 100 new positive cases for Covid-19 which includes 43 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) while 78 persons were discharged after they were found negative and free from the contagion.

The cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours as at 5 pm of Monday.

Manipur Covid-19 common control room informed that out of total positive cases 57 persons including 20 females belong to general population while 43 are CAFP personnel.

The positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS – 38; VRDL, JNIMS 18; Babina Diagnostic -1; Imphal West RAT 21; DH Kamjong 2; DH Ukhrul -18 ; Raj Medicity -1; DH Kakching – 1. They are from Imphal West – 34; Thoubal -1; Senapati 1; Kangpokpi – 1; Chandel 1; Churachandpur – 2; Imphal East – 6; Kakching – 2; Kamjong – 9. 7 out of the general population are returnees from other states (Imphal East 1, Kakching – 2, Chandel – 1, Churachandpur 1, Imphal West- 1, Senapati – 1; and the rest 50 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

Those 78 persons discharged are from CRPF (15), RIMS (7), JNIMS (2), CCCS of Meitram (21), Senapati (3), Thoubal (16), Kasom (1), Churachandpur (6), DH Thoubal (3) and RD Wing (4) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR
test, it said.

The cumulative number of death remained at 11.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 3853 (general population – 2977 and central security personnel 876). The cumulative number of discharged cases is 2122 (general population – 1972 and central security personnel – 150). The number of active cases is 1720 (general population – 994 and central security personnel -726).

The recovery rate was 55.07 percent.
