Imphal: In the past 24 hours, 75 persons (43M, 32F) from general population and 13 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.
The positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS – 10; VRDL, JNIMS – 5; Babina Diagnostic – 10; Imphal West RAT – 50; Raj Medicity TruNat -2; Shija Hospital – 1. They are from Imphal West – 55; Thoubal – 2; Senapati – 1; Imphal East – 8; Noney – 3; Bishnupur – 4; Tamenglong – 1; Kamjong I. Two (1 – Imphal East, 1 – Kamjong) out of the general population are returnees from other states and the rest 73 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Covid-19 common control room said.
It said in the past twenty-four hours, 33 persons were discharged. They are from CAPF (20), JNIMS (2), CCCs of Meitram (6) and Ukhrul (5) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 3941 (General Population -3065 and Central Security Personnel-889). The cumulative number of discharged cases is 2155 (General Population-1985 and Central Security Personnel-170). The number of active cases is 1774 (General Population-1055 and Central Security Personnel-719). The recovery rate is 54.68 percent.
A male, 60, from Imphal East expired due to Covid 19. He had co-morbid health conditions. The cumulative number of deaths is 12.
