Covid-19 update:  3 death, 179 positive

Imphal: Three males of 73 years (Imphal West district), 44 years (BSF lersonnel) and 94 years (Thoubal district) expired at JNIMS and RIMS (2 persons) respectively on Sunday due to Covid-19 and other co-morbid health conditions.

The cumulative number of deaths is 16 by Sunday 5 pm.

A total of 179 persons, 68 from general population and 111 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases in Manipur.

State Covid-19 common control room said the positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS – 73; JNIMS – 40 ; Raj Medicity – 3; DH Churachandpur – 20; Babina Diagnostics – 5; Senapati DTO – 1; Shija Hospital – 4; Imphal West RAT – 33. They are from Imphal West – 47; Thoubal – 4; Imphal East -9; Senapati – 2; Noney – 2; Ulchnil – 3; Kangpolkpi — 1.

Eight (Noney — 2, Ukhrul -2, Imphal East -1, Senapati — 1, Kangpokpi — 1, Imphal West – 1) out of the general population are returnees from other states and the rest 60 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

In the past 24 hours, 194 persons were discharged.

They are from CAPF (18), RIMS (5), DH Thoubal (5), CCC Meitram (45), Lamboilchongnganglchong (44), Tamenglong (30), Thoubal (26), Senapati (8) and RD Wing (13) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 4569 (general population — 3377 and central security personnel – 1192). The cumulative number of discharged cases is 2632 (general population-2385 and central security personnel-247). The number of active cases is 1921 (general population – 977 and central security personnel – 944). The recovery rate is 57.60 percent.
