Covid-19 update: One succumbed, 78 tested positive, 55 recovered in Manipur

Imphal: On Tuesday, a 75 years old female from Imphal West expired at JNIMS due to Covid 19 and other co-morbid health conditions.

The cumulative number of deaths is 18.

In the past 24 hours, 73 persons from general population and 5 personnel from Central Armed Police Force were confirmed positive for Covid-19, Covid-19 common control room said.

The positive cases are from VRDL, JNIMS – 15; JNIMS RAT — 1; RIMS TrueNat — 9; Jiribam RAT — 1; Noney RAT – 2; Imphal West RAT – 36; DH Bishnupur – 9; Imphal East RAT – 4; Public Hospital and Research Institute – 1. They are from Imphal West – 44; Imphal East – 16; Bishnupur – 9; Noney – 2; Thoubal – 2, it added.

Only 4 from Imphal West out of the general population are returnees from other states and the rest are locals without any significant travel history, it said.

They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.

The control room informed that in the past 24 hours, 55 persons were discharged. They are from CAPF (20), Covid care centres of Lamboikhongngangkhong (29), Lanva Churachandpur (5) and TK Ukhrul (1), after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 4765. The cumulative number of discharged cases is 2789. The number of active cases is 1958. The recovery rate is 58.53 percent, it said.
