Covid-19 death toll reaches 20, positive cases cross 5000 mark,  3261 recovered


Imphal: Two males of 73 years and 67 years from Imphal West expired due to Covid-19 and other co-morbid health conditions, state Covid-19 common control room said on Friday evening.

The cumulative number of deaths is 20, the control room said.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 5049, the cumulative number of recovered cases is 3261 and the number of active cases is 1768. The recovery rate is 64.58 percent it added.

In the past 24 hours, 98 persons from general population and 26 personnel from Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.

“Only one person from Kakching from the general population is a returnee from other state whereas the rest 97 are locals without any significant travel history,” it said.

In the past 24 hours, 259 persons were discharged after they were found free from the contagion, it added.
