Imphal, August 23: As on Sunday evening 114 new positive cases including 47 Central Armed Police Force personnel have been reported in Manipur.
The positive cases from the general public are from Imphal West – 35; Bishnupur — 5; Imphal East – 17; Chandel – 1; Thoubal — 6; Kakching -1; Noney — 1; Ukhrul — 1.
Seven (Imphal East – 4, Imphal West — 2, Chandel — 1) are returnees from other states while the rest 60 are locals without any significant travel history.
They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the state common control room said.
It said in the past 24 hours, 161 persons were discharged after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 5246, the cumulative number of recovered cases is 3616 and the number of active cases is 1608. The recovery rate is 68.92 percent, it added.
The cumulative number of deaths is 22, it said.
