Manipur Covid-19 update: 116 tested positive, 97 recovered

Imphal: A total of 116 including 42 personnel from Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new positive cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours as on Monday evening.

The positive cases are from  RIMS – 34; JNIMS – 54; RIMS RAT — 12; Raj Medicity — 2; Babina Diagnostics — 7; Imphal East-2; Thoubal — 2; Churachandpur — 3. They are from Imphal West – 31; Imphal East – 25; Thoubal – 7; Bishnupur – 2; Kakching -1; Ukhrul — 3; Churachandpur – 5, state Covid-19 common control room said.

“Three persons (Kakching -1, Imphal West — 2) out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 71 are locals without any significant travel history,” it said.

They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.

It said in the past 24 hours, 97 persons were discharged after they were found free from the contagion on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 5362 (general population-3939 and central security personnel – 1423). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 3713 (general population – 3078 and central security personnel – 635). The number of active cases is 1627 (general population — 840 and central security personnel – 787). The cumulative number of deaths is 22. The recovery rate is 69.24 percent, the control room said.
