114 with no travel history tested positive for Covid-19, one expired

Imphal: A total of 114 locals out of 116 persons from general public were confirmed as new positive cases for Covid-19 while a 65 years old woman from Imphal West expired at JNIMS as on Wednesday evening.

In the past 24 hours 141 including 25 persons from Central Armed Police Force were tested positive for the disease, the state Covid-19 common control room said.

The positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS – 38; VRDL, JNIMS-18; Bishnupur Raj Medicity – 2; Thoubal – 4; Imphal West RAT – 38; Babina Diagnostics 6; RIMS RAT – 9; STDC/IRL-1; Imphal East RAT – 14; Thoubal – 4; Shija Hospital – 2; Churachandpur – 3. They are from Imphal West – 57; Imphal East – 32; Thoubal – 14; Bishnupur – 4; Churachandpur – 3; Kakching – 1; Senapati – 1; Noney 3; Kangpokpi – 1.

Two persons from Noney out of the general population are returnees from other states.

They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

In the past 24 hours 17 persons were discharged from CAPF (8), RIMS (8) and RD Wing (1) after they were found ovid-19 free on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 5585 (general population 4129 and central security personnel 1456). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 3829 (general population 3163 and central security personnel – 666). The number of active cases is 1731 (general population – 942 and central security personnel – 789). The recovery rate is 68.55 percent. The cumulative number of deaths is 25.
