Manipur Covid-19 update: 140 tested positive, 91 recovered

Imphal: In Manipur, as on Monday evening 140 persons were tested positive while 91 were recovered from the disease.

State Covid-19 common control room said in the past twenty-four hours, 103 persons (82M, 21F) from general population and 37 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.

The positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS – 16; VRDL, JNIMS – 37; Raj Medicity – 2; Christian Hospital – I; Jiribam — 29; Babina Diagnostics —17; Ukhrul – 4; Thoubal — 13; Churachandpur – 5; Imphal East RAT — 11; Chandel — 5. They are from Imphal West – 26; Imphal East – 21; Thoubal – 17; Ukhrul – 8; Senapati — 3; Tengnoupal — 11; Bishnupur — 1; Kangpokpi — 1; Jiribam — 9; Churachandpur – 5; Chandel – 1. 6 persons (Churachandpur — 1; Senapati — 3; Ukhrul — 1; Jiribam -1) out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 97 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place. Today, there is no report of death. The cumulative number of deaths is 28.

In the past twenty-four hours, 91 persons were discharged. They are from CAPF (1), CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong (29), UNACCO (34), JNIMS (2), RD Wing (2), DH Thoubal (3), CCC Thoubal (17) and DH Tamenglong (3) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 6252 (General Population – 4655 and Central Security Personnel -1597). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 4330 (General Population-3500 and Central Security Personnel – 830). The number of active cases is 1894 (General Population -1129 and Central Security Personnel -765). The recovery rate is 69.25 %.

Milting is done in the containment zones of Imphal West. The areas are Sagolband, Thangmeiband, Talchel Leilcai, Yaiskul Sougaijam, Chingakham Leirak, Old Nambulane and Sanjenthong.
