Imphal: Three persons expired at different hospitals in Imphal due to Covid 19 and other co-morbid conditions raising the total number Covid-19 related deaths to 32 as on Thursday evening.
Manipur Covid-19 common control room said the three males—one aged 35 years from Bishnupur district, the second aged 61 years from Thoubal district and the third aged 63 years from Imphal East expired at Shija Hospital and Research Institute, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences and Regional Institute of Medical Sciences respectively.
It said in the past 24 hours, 75 persons from the general population and 27 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.
The positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS – 24; VRDL, JNIMS — 27; RIMS RAT — 2; JNIMS TrueNat — 1; Tengnoupal —1; Jeevan Hospital —1; Raj Medicity — 6; Thoubal — 15; Babina Diagnostics — 4; Kakching -1; Churachandpur — 6; Bishnupur — 3; Imphal East RAT — 11. They are from Imphal West – 14; Imphal East – 11; Chandel — 1; Bishnupur -4; Thoubal — 20; Churachandpur — 6; Kakching -2; Tengnoupal — 17. All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
According to the control room in the last 24 hours167 persons were discharged after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 6609 (general Population -4980 and central security personnel -1629). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 4774 (general population-3739 and central security personnel – 1035). The number of active cases is 1803 (general population —1211 and central security personnel – 592).The recovery rate is 72.23 percent.
Miking is being continued in Imphal West. The areas are Uchiwa Leirak Achouba, Masjid Road, Paona Bazar, Lamsang Thing Matting, Lamsang Bazar, LaingamIchul, Taothong Khunou, Lamdeng Khunou, Phayeng Sabal, Selunai New Market, Wangoi, Nongthongband, Kanglatombi, Samurou, Hiyangthang, Awang Khunou, Toubunglchok, Tangmeiband, Chingmeirong and North AOC, the control room said.
