Imphal: Troops of Assam Rifles from the Churachandpur Battalion while moving towards Khengjang Company Operating Base (COB) from Churachandpur noticed an outbreak of fire in the evening of September 5 in three shops, located to the west of Imphal-Tiddim Road at Koite village.
Assam Rifles immediately requisitioned the Civil Fire-Tender which reached the location within 10 minutes and along with the troops doused the fire while saving lives of civilians at the location.
The fire was brought under complete control within an hour. While the shops were completely burnt, no loss of life was reported. The humanitarian assistance provided by the Assam Rifles once again proved Assam Rifles to be the True “Friends of NE People”, the Assam Rifles said.
