96 more tested positive for COVID-19, 1 expired, 126 recovered

Imphal: In the past 24 hours till 5 pm of Tuesday Manipur witnessed one COVID-19 induced death while 96 tested positive and 126 recovered from the contagion, in Manipur.

The person expired was a 48-year old from Thoubal district. He was declared dead at RIMS.

With this new death case the cumulative number of deaths is 39.

Out of the new positive cases two were personnel from Central Armed Police Force.

Of the positive persons from the general public five persons (2 Churachandpur, 2-Ukhrul and 1-Chandel) are returnees from other states while the rest 89 are locals without any significant travel history.

They are being shifted to the COVID care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Manipur COVID-19 common control room said.

With the recovery of 126 persons the recovery rate has moved to 76.14 percent.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 7202 (general population — 5489 and central security personnel -1713). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 5484 (general population – 4277 and central security personnel -1207). The number of active cases is 1679 (general population – 1175 and central security personnel – 504).
