Jayantakumar inaugurates rural collection centre and AYUSH store

Imphal: Health and family welfare minister L. Jayantakumar Singh has inaugurated a rural collection centre and an AYUSH store cum Godown at Kairao, Imphal East and directorate office, AYUSH, Lamphelpat on Tuesday.

Speaking at the inaugural occasion of Rural Collection Centre at Keirao, organized by State Medicinal Plant Board, SMPB under the aegis of National Ayush Mission, NAM, Jayantakumar said the government has been giving due importance to health sector since every human wish to live long with a good health facilities. People generally perceive that by health sector the allopathic kind of treatment is the only option to cope with the health problems meted out in our day today affairs. But, AYUSH is also playing a major role which can be opted for maintaining good health of the public and also protecting ourselves from diseases, he added.

AYUSH department, Manipur has also produced ayurvedic immune booster product like AYUSH IMMUNE PLUS that can help a person to boost his or her immune system during this pandemic period, Jayantakumar said.

He said opening a rural collection center which is also first of such kind in the state will now help the farmers and entrepreneurs, who are working with AYUSH Department by growing medicinal and aromatic plants by making it easier for marketing their products and also accessing a better communication with the department regarding their grievances. The center will now link the farmers and the department of AYUSH and also ultimately with the government, he added.

Tje minister who is also holding the portfolio of law and legislative affairs, maintained that the government has already initiated to set up a district court at Imphal East. Required land for the construction of district vourt has already been earmarked by the law department. A district hospital for Imphal East is also in the pipeline, he added.

The AYUSH Store cum Godown was set up at the directorate office, AYUSH complex, Lamphelpat.

The minister inspected the work progress of the newly constructed AYUSH Hospital at Lamphelpat.
