Covid-19 update: 1 expired, 152 tested positive, 100 recovered 

Imphal: In Manipur, as on Saturday evening  (5 pm) one 48-year old female Covid-19 passed away at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal while 152 persons were tested positive for the contagion and 100 patients were recovered from it.

With the new death case cumulative number of death cases has reached 45.

State Covid-19 common control room said in the past 24 hours, 123 persons from general population and 29 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.

The positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS-23; JNIMS-41; Thoubal — 6; Chandel – 1; Jiribam — I; Ukhrul — 1; Maipakpi Hospital — 3; Churachandpur – 9;Imphal East- 2; Imphal West -28; Raj Medicity — 4; Babina Diagnostics — 21; Jivan Hospital — 1; Bishnupur — 2; Shija Hospital — 2; Imphal West RAT -7. They are from Imphal West – 60; Kakching — 2; Chandel — 1; Jiribam — 1; Ukhrul — 1; Noney -2; Thoubal — 12; Bishnupur -2; Imphal East -33; Churachandpur -9, it added.

Fourteen persons (IW- 5, Noney — 2, Chandel — 1, Churachandpur — 5, IE — 1) out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 109 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

In the past 24 hours, 100 persons were discharged from CAPF (31), RIMS (5), JNIMS (3), CCC TK Ukhrul (18), RD Wing (13), CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong (30) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 7731 (general population — 5930 and central security personnel -1801). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 6102 (general population – 4604 and central decurity personnel -1498). The number of active cases is 1584 (general population — 1284 and central security personnel – 300). The recovery rate is 78.92 percent, the control room said.
