Health minister urges AYUSH officials to have vision

Imphal: Health and family welfare minister L. Jayantakumar Singh urged the officers and staffs of AYUSH department to have a vision and be focussed on it while serving in any institution or department, during the POSHAN MAAH celebration held at the 50-Bedded AYUSH Hospital, Lamphelpat, Imphal on Monday.

Jayantakumar said the celebration of POSHAN MAAH has given a message to all of us for harbouring the phenomena of health is wealth. Most people have the concept of the importance of maintaining good health but very few apply this theory. This is the responsibility of every one of us to cultivate the very concept in order to live healthy. There are many policies and initiatives that the government have been introducing from time to time to maintain good public health, he added.
He said department of social welfare has also been initiating many schemes for the welfare of women, children and old aged persons. He maintained that right from pregnancy stage the pregnant women have been taken care of their health and hygiene under different schemes of the government. The concept of good health can be applied to all categories of people. But only theoretical implication will not be beneficial to public until it gets converted to practice, minister added.
Jayantakumar said the celebration signifies the necessity of giving awareness on the importance of nutritional values. He said mutual co-operation between health, social welfare and education departments need to be maintained since these three departments are correlated, he added.
Ayush department have also been taking a big role to maintain public health and hygiene. This has become an important alternative branch of health care. The department have been relentlessly working to prove itself best for maintaining public health, he added.
