MGNREGS Employees’ Association to launch cease work strike

Imphal: Manipur Hill Districts MGNREGS Employees’ Association (AMHDMEA) has declared to launch cease work strike on Wednesday.

It said that it felt very upset to the government of Manipur for neglecting the demand for service regularisation and absorption to the RD and PR department.

The association had issued a press release on August 22 and subsequently given a memorandum to the chief minister of Manipur on September 5 regarding the issue.

It said the state government had regularised the service of the MGNREGS employees of valley districts in 2016. But till date hill districts MGNREGS employees are not yet regularised.

Therefore the poor and helpless MGNREGS employees of hill districts have no other option but to begin democratic form of agitation/cease work with effect from Wednesday in all districts of Manipur for highlighting their grievances and seeking the attention of the government for favour of hill districts, the association said.
