Manipur Covid-19 update: One expired, 177 tested positive, 90 recovered

Imphal: One 79 years old male  patient passed away due to Covid-19 while 177 persons were confirmed as new positive cases and 90 patients were recovered in the past 24 hours as on Friday 5 pm.

The new positive cases include 64 personnel from Central Armed Police Force.

The positive cases are from VRDL, JNIMS – 33; VRDL, RIMS – 13; JNIMS – 19; RIMS RAT – 2; Kangpokpi – 3; Ukhrul – 1; Tamenglong – 2; Raj Medicity – 3; Thoubal 15; Bishnupur – 1; Churachandpur 48; Jivan Hospital – 1; Babina Diagnostics – 13: Jiribam – 5: Senapati Imphal West RAT – 10; Chandel – 1: Kangpokpi – 1.

They are from Imphal West – 31; Imphal East- 37; Thoubal – 20; Churachandpur -9; Senapati – 6; Kakching – 1, Kangpokpi – 3; Chandel – 2, Ukhrul – 1; Tamenglong – 2; Tengnoupal – 1.

Ten persons (Senapati – 6, 3 – IE, 1-Ukhrul) out
of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 103 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid care
facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

The new victim was from Churachandpur. He expired at JNIMS.

The cumulative number of deaths is 52, Covid-19 commoncontrol room said.

The recovered persons were discharged from CAPF (21), RIMS (5), RD Wing (11), CCC UNACCO (14), CCC
Lamboikhongnangkhong (32) and CCC Jiribam (7) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 8607 (general population – 6681 and central security personnel -1926). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 6629
(general population 5053 and central security personnel -1576). The number of active cases is 1926 (general population – 1579 and central security personnel –
347). The recovery rate is 77.01 percent,  the control room said.
