Imphal:In the past 24 hours, 214 persons (129 males, 85 females)from general population and 56 personnel from Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases, Covid-19commoncontrol room stated on Tuesday evening (5 pm).

24; Chandel – 1; Churacahndpur – 5; Bishnupur – 6; Kakching – 6; IRL – 1; Jivan Hospital – 4; Imphal West RAT – 21; Babina Diagnostics – 15; RIMS RAT – 7;
Mother’s Care – 1; Tamenglong – 1; JNIMS – 73. They are from Imphal West – 54; Imphal East – 100; Thoubal – 29; Tengnoupal – 3; Bishnupur – 6; Kakching – 7;
Chandel – 3; Kangpokpi – 1; Churachandpur – 5; Kamjong – 1; Senapati – 1; Tamenglong – 4.
“Nine persons (Imphal East 4, Bishnupur – 5) out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 205 are locals without anysignificant travel history,” the control room said.
They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
It said inthe last 24 hours, one male, 82,(Imphal West) expired at JNIMS due to Covid-19 and other co-morbid conditions. The cumulative number of deaths is 60, it said.
During the period persons 49 persons were discharged from CAPF (1), RIMS (6), RD Wing (15). Kangpokpi (1), CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong (1), CCC Lamding Thoubal (24) and CCC Bishnupur (1) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 9280 (general population – 7266 and central security personnel -2014). The number of active cases is 2333 (general population-1987 and central security personnel – 346). The recovery rate is 74.21 percent, the control room said.
