233 with no travel history among 260 fresh Covid-19 positive cases

Imphal: Manipur on Thursday recorded 260 Covid-19 positive cases and recovery of 79 patients while one expired due to the contagion.

In the past 24 hours, 240 persons from general population and 20 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases,  Covid-19 common control room said.

The positive cases are from RIMS – 116; JNIMS – 26; Swiss Hospital – 1; Thoubal – 18; Noney – 1; Shija Hospital – 5; Churachandpur – 14; Raj Medicity – 11; Kamjong 2: Imphal East – 6: Bishnupur – 2; Kakching – 1; Mother’s Care – 1; Senapati – 2; Jiribam 6; Tamenglong – 2; Imphal West RAT – 17; Ukhrul 16; Babina Diagnostics – 13. The positive cases from general population are from Imphal West –1 20; Imphal East 36; Tamenglong 2, Ukhrul 16; Noney 11; Kakching 1; Senapati – 2; Churachandpur – 20; Jiribam – 6; Thoubal – 21; Kamjong – 2; Bishnupur – 3, it added.

“Eight persons (Thoubal -3, IE -1, Ukhrul – 4) are returnees from other states while the rest 232 are locals without any significant travel history,” the control room said. 

They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.

During the 24 hours 79 persons were discharged from CAPF (13), RIMS (1), CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong (43), UNACCO (9), Kangpokpi (1) and CCC Moreh (12) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.

One female aged 57 years from Imphal East expired at RIMS. The cumulative number of deaths is 64, the control room said.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 10051 (general Population – 7910 and central security personnel -2141). The recovery rate is 76.42 percent.
